Our group classes are the perfect way to get the training you and your dog need, while your dog also benefits from socialization with other dogs and learning in an environment with the distractions of other dogs and people. We offer three group classes that start with Purely Positive Puppy for your puppy’s first group training experience, to Basic Obedience for dogs six months of age or older, to Advanced Obedience which is a perfect follow-up to Basic, and readily reinforces skills already learned. More details on each class are available below.

Tecla's K-9 Academyʼs Advanced Obedience Class is the perfect follow-up to our Basic Obedience Class. In these classes we continue to stress the importance of a balanced relationship between owner and dog, as well as the utilization of scientifically supported learning principles in obedience training. We work under distraction to increase your dogʼs reliability as we work towards the course goal of off-leash control. Advanced Obedience/Fun and Games is perfect for more biddable non-aggressive dogs and Advanced Obedience/Remote Collar is for the more stubborn or aggressive among our canine companions.

Rally Obedience is a form of dog obedience with a total focus on fun and excitement for both the dog and the handler. Dog and handler teams follow an obstacle course of obedience exercises, performing the exercises indicated by 10-20 consecutive signs. Dogs enjoy having a job and when you take one of our Rally classes, you will be teaching your dog many fine-tuned obedience commands that will engage them mentally and physically.
Nosework is an activity and sport that was inspired by the real life model of working detection dogs. This skill, when developed in a dog, can build confidence, reduce environmental sensitivity, and provide both mental and physical exercise.
