Tecla’s K-9 Academy is a dedicated supporter of several rescues groups servicing the Maryland area; we currently foster and train one dog at a time for All Shepherd Rescue. If you are interested in fostering or adopting a dog via one of the local rescue groups we support please call our office at 410-461-DOGS or email us for more information.

Foster Dogs Available

Meet Baron

Baron is a 5-year-old german shepherd that was brought into the Baltimore County Animal Shelter in horrible shape and with his mouth taped shut.

He was extremely malnourished and underweight and his ears were so badly infected that he had to be put under to have them cleaned.

Black Dogs & Company Rescue stepped in to help this guy and he is now happy, healthy, and being fostered at Tecla’s K-9 Academy where he is receiving daily training and socialization.

If you’re interested in adopting this special guy, please follow this link to his page on the Black Dogs and Company Rescue website where you will find their application.

Meet Shade

Shade is being fostered by Tecla’s K-9 Academy for a family that has made the difficult decision that their home is not the right home for Shade.  Shade is about 4-years-old and is a young active house- trained dog and crate trained.  He can be a bit fearful around new people although his confidence and comfort has improved greatly with the training and socialization he has been receiving at Tecla’s K-9 Academy.  He will do best in a home with no children under teen years.  With his energy and enthusiasm for life he would make a great obedience candidate as well as agility or rally dog.

Shade’s ideal family would be an active adopter with GSD experience who wants a dog to take on hikes, running and all round fun.  If you would like to learn more about Shade or are interested in adopting him please contact Rebecca Wolfe at

Meet Greenbean

Greenbean is a very special 5-year-old dog that Tecla’s K-9 Academy is fostering.  His owner adopted him from a Balitmore area rescue but did not realize the full extent of the training, patience, and consistent leadership that he would need.  He can be quick to adrenalize but with an experienced handler he takes direction well.  He has been receiving training and socialization at Tecla’s K-9 Academy.  Greenbean’s ideal home would be an active individual or couple with no children under teen years who would be willing to continue training with him and even take up a dog sport hobby such as rally or nosework.  Tecla’s K-9 Academy is offering a $1,000 training scholarship to Greenbean and his new adopter for continued training classes.  If you would like to learn more about Greenbean or are interested in adopting him please contact Rebecca Wolfe at
